Freightliner was recognized on June 9th with the 2021 Price Digests' Highest Retained Value Award at World of Concrete in Las Vegas. Both the Cascadia and M2 106 received recognition in the heavy-duty category for the conventional day cab tractor and conventional cab and chassis categories.
"We are pleased to have the reliability and resiliency of our Freightliner vehicles recognized, said Steve Mignardi, vice president, on-highway market development, Daimler Trucks North America. "We pride ourselves on building the highest-quality vehicles on the market with the lowest total cost of ownership so that we can deliver for our valued customers and drivers year after year."
These important independent and data-driven awards identify the commercial trucks that are expected to retain the highest residual value over a five-year period into the future. Price Digests analysts calculate vehicle residual values according to market deprecation standards using proprietary algorithms that allow them to predict future value over the next five years.
The Freightliner Cascadia is a leading Class 8 vehicle featuring 350-605 horsepower and industry-leading Detroit Assurance 5.0 safety system. Freightliner's M2 is a Class 6-8 vehicle featuring 200-350 horsepower and comes in tractor or trailer configurations. Both vehicles will soon be available in battery-electric versions, the eCascadia and eM2, respectively. Start of ordering was recently announced, with production beginning in 2022.
